SELLING RESIN FAKE SCRIMSHAW !!! A couple of years ago I bought a piece of scrimshaw from them entitled "Flying Cloud". Recently I browsed thru their latest catalog and found the "Flying Cloud" still listed. Much to my dismay, the natural markings on the front and back of my "ancient" walrus tooth EXACTLY matched all of the markings on the one on their website. I took a hot pin and was easily able to melt a hole in the bottom back of the tooth...indicating that it was a plastic resin copy. I e-mailed scrinshaw gallery and they claimed that ALL their scrimshaw was one of a kind on walrus teeth. I asked them to e-mail me another toot with the "Flying Cloud" on it...as the natural markings on the tooth would be different from the one I bought. They did not reply. DO NOT BUY SCRIMSHAW FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE SELLING RESIN FAKES !!!
